2 year old Jillian attends an early childhood setting in rural Victoria. Bree, her educator, has noticed that Jillian hasn’t yet met the language milestones like other children her age and doesn’t seem to understand spoken instructions.
Bree observes Jillian carefully. She can see that she is active and has advanced motor skills. She also notices that she often has emotional outbursts towards educators and other children.
Bree notes that Jillian often doesn’t respond to her own name, and works quietly for long periods without acknowledging her surroundings. Bree records all of her observations and reviews them later with the Centre Director.
